Well, we all know my ego is the only thing keeping the Earth spinning at this point... (it's currently the size of Canada and growing)
However, it's all a matter of opinion. Personally, I wanted really freaking sweet looking armor instead of a golden emote. I worked hard for the armor, and got it. I feel just as gratified as a person who worked hard to get that big freaking pea-RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO emote or whatever it is :P
they way pvp players are push pve i grantee guilwars will not make next year!
hhhhmm how well did factions do tell me! how meny people anet got mad tell me please
How goes ha with your fame!
i was right with all of them!
Um...im trying really hard not to find this funny. But it is.
You are delusional my friend ^_^
Guild Wars will survive you and your ranting because its a good game. Its nice mix of pve and pvp.
Factions is doing well regardless of how many angry players there, because the sample size does not indicate anything but a minority. Unless Anet has official figures of how many "angry" players there are vs how many "content" players.
And another thing, angry players are usually STILL players. -.- Look at you!? You said you were quitting, yet here you are and you keep posting. >.<
Even though some players get angry, they still play the game because theres a part of it they do like. The group of players who truly got frustrated enough to up and leave never really liked Guild Wars in the first place imo, or it wasnt the right game for them.

Does the possibility of Dwarven Axes and Crystalline sword (with max damage) exist outside of HoH chests? Ive seen one drop... ever... in PvE. A purple dwarven axe from a FoW quest chest after my 1000th trip.
Fine, not "uber-godly" weapons, same stats as always but :
new, unique, sweet, shiny, sexy skin
EG : When you become "Kind of a Big Deal" you get to wield a weapon that is kind of a big deal too.
You are Protector of Cantha? Here, get this unique skin item. Has a skin for every class in the game and you get to pick the stats (fow style weapons).
Protector of Tyria? Heres the ability to take a trip to Dwaynas realm to craft Spirit Armor (or whatever).
Finished Titans Source? Craft titan armor or use the bosses toe as an offhand or sumin. 50k XP when I already have 3 million isnt a big deal.
BUT we have CASUAL players who WILL NEVER get it! Yeah, those casual players wont see FoW armor anytime either. Theres enough out there for the casual player, give us something for hardcore PvE players. (The elite missions? Been there, done that. Got the Bow and the Axe. Hardly unique since every trip has them drop.)
I would have been really happy if once you beat Urgoz when you knelt by Melandrus Shrine you got to be taken to a different place or sumin. Or Kanaxai too.
I DONT want "godly" weapons. I hate the concept. "hey guess what, i just pwned the lich with one hit from my 155-1220 sword." Customizing my character, giving him a unique feel from everyone else is something I do like. Hence why i FoWed my monk. I just got 15k kurzick for my necro and I cant stop thinking how good he looks.
Someone on the forum pasted a picture of their sword which was a runner up... that was a SWEET looking sword. I want it. Bad. Give me that for becoming Protector of Cantha!
Something that doesnt affect PvP : aggro bubble. Got 100% map completion? Heres an item, that since you know the land so well and all that, makes your aggro bubble smaller. I dont care casual players will not get these items unless they buy them for ridiculous amounts since they arent supposed to get them since they havent completed the requierments anyway.

Imba, easier ganking. Especially past Flame Sentinels.

The only disadvantage a PVE toon has is being forced to cap Elite skills instead of buying them with faction. Non-elites I just buy at Ember Light camp with my farming toon who has over 250 unused skill points and 900k gold. PVP-only players:
-are stuck with one set of armor (two is ideal) and cannot ever have a secondary armor set, be it for vanity or functionality
-cannot go to any town to buy and sell stuff
-only get 2 weapons and offhands, when ideally they need 3 sets minumum
-have no money to buy extra equipment (need PVE toon or friends / guildies to get money)
-cannot participate in festivals and special events
-cannot use candy canes to make 60% DP disappear in a flash
...and the list goes on and on. And you still want more?
This and the fact that there are no drops in pvp is why I play primarily PVE
Ask the top 20-30 guilds why there isn't any PvE only items. They are the ones that dictate what happens in game with the non-stop whining about everything that upsets their winning streak.
That and the game is more focused on PvP, PvE is just a training ground for PvP.
Anyways, they should add some sort of epic quest (i.e., long series of quests that takes months to complete) that lets you obtain some equal item with a unique skin. Then again, I doubt they could actually manage to make PvE difficult. :]
uhm, Pvp characters have acces to Xunlai storage... your list is a little shorter than you think
lol? He's saying, without a PvE character, your ways to make gold are extremely limited. Like, limited to selling whatever drops for you from the chest in Hall of Heroes. Assuming you make it that far, and if you get a drop at all, which you likely won't. <_<

Fine then, have those items have the same tag than holiday items. Not usable in PvP. Hey, smaller aggro bubble isnt a great idea anyway. Just throwing stuff out there.
If you want a game where you can go PWNZOR because you put in like 2000 hours to do some uber 1337 quest, go play Runescape or something similar. The Guild Wars equivalent is very very different. It's... *gasp* knowledge. In your head. Once you've been playing for long enough, if you have your brain switched on, things will get easier for you because you will think of better ways to do stuff, and therefore you will get better at them.
Example: The "uber yeti-smiting" weapons. No. What you need is an uber-yeti-smiting build. Which you make by (zomg) observing how yetis fight and then coming up with a counter build to it. This is how Guild Wars rewards skill and not hours played. Are people who play longer going to be richer/have more items? Probably. But if you can figure out how to out-think them, you might end up someday as rich as they are. Could you copy some build you find on here? Yep, but the key is to always be thinking about how you could make it better.
To sum up, skill and information is the "uber-pwn" weapon for PvE. You always know that those mobs are going to be running the EXACT SAME BUILD that they were last time, and if you paid attention to it, you should COUNTER it.

dreamhunk, i've said it before, i'll say it again:
YOU'RE PLAYING THE WRONG FRIGGIN' GAME.
Go play Planescape:Torment or Baldur's Gate again.
It's getting to the point where I almost don't think you're a real person anymore -- I'm starting to think that you're just a troll who's invented this "I R TEH RPGAR!!!1!" personality simply to bait us.
eudas
It was over year ago when I 1st time entered the PvP-arena only to find out that the people there take the "friggin' game" way too seriously. Ever since I frequently visit Random Arenas/other PvP-stuff just to remind myself why I feel so comfortable while staying in PvE only - it's the people that think that this game is made just for the one aspect of it - PvP.
THIS FRIGGIN' GAME IS BOTH PvE and PvP- - - it needs both of it's aspects to be the awesome game it is and without the other there would not be the other either.
Now stop whining --- both sides.
And... when I want to play online, I really don't wanna play Torment or Baldurs, GW looks soooo much better
Thus I'd suggest you PvP-people take on the good old "Conan the Barbarian"-game for Commodore 64/128 . . . It was the ultimate pvp. No need to run around in PvE for getting equipment or skills, it was purely player skill.
I think the route of this problem is rpg players want rewards fitting for their hard work in the game.
The player base is rpg players don't forget that!
I would like to point out here ! this one of the reasons rpg player will never ever get along with pvp players!
rpg want better rpg not more hack and slash!
this game is definatly not for u if u think that this game is based around pve,
because it ain't (the clue is in the title)
so if u want a game were there is a advantage over people who have just started playing, to those who have been playing for years go play runescape or eve.
one of the main ideas of gw is that u don't need to have been playing since release to be as good as some one that has.
theyre already in the game think off spear of archemerous (sp ?) and urn of saint viktor sure u can only use em in a couple of missions but hey wouldnt u call em godly :P
